BACA is part of CIBIO-Açores, the Research Center in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources – Azores, based at the University of the Azores while constituting a research group of InBIO, the Research Network in Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology.
ECCO is the European Culture Collection Organization. The aim of the organisation is to promote collaboration and exchange of ideas and information about all aspects of culture collection activity. BACA is part of ECCO since September of 2021.
Pt-mBRCN is the Portuguese microBiological Resource Centre Network and member of the National Roadmap for Research Infrastructures (RNIE). Pt-mBRCN is a national network of microbial culture collections covering different taxonomic groups and federating microbial taxonomic experts to provide microbial resources for the advancement of biotechnology, human health, and research and development in Life Sciences. Pt-mBRCN aims for a better-managed national microbial resources which will lead to further discoveries in all areas of the life sciences including healthcare and innovative solutions and products for bioindustries. BACA is part of the Pt-mBRCN since October of 2021.
WDCM is the World Data Centre for Microorganisms. WDCM, as the global microbial resources data center, has a long-standing commitment to developing and applying cutting edge Information Technology to improve access to and use of data and information, to optimize the interoperability of microbial data, and to facilitate the exchange of open data and, in so doing, to support international open science exchanges as well as cooperation between scientists from culture collections and other user communities. BACA is in the WDCM since October of 2020.
